Welcome

Hollie Putnam is an artist, educator, and researcher. Originally earning a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Painting, Hollie's artwork was motivated by social justice work which led her to education. While earning a Master's in Early Childhood Education, Hollie taught three years in Kansas City, Missouri in kindergarten and second grade. Hollie continued teaching as a third grade lead teacher in New Orleans, Louisiana, specializing in English Language Arts. Upon moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Hollie decided to return to school; earning a Master's in Art Education.

 

While working as a graduate assistant, Hollie gained experience leading professional development and coaching sessions with elementary and art education preservice teachers. Hollie also conducted action-research; her research interests include arts integration, the Reggio Emilia Approach, curriculum design, and research journals as a transdisciplinary research tool. This research enriches her teaching practice and spurs her towards continual improvement.
